Elf Sketch
Pencil and Ink sketch. The theme of Fantasy really fascinates me, drawing faeries, an elf, goblins are fun to draw.
Mina and the Count
Painted in Corel Painter 11 program under the acrylic setting. Trying to stay in a simple style and also being something that could be seen in a children's book or a card design (for Halloween for example). This show only had 6 episodes, but I still remember those episodes and wonder why this show never caught on. This illustration was something to remember one of my favorite shows as a kid.
Arctic Seal
This is a mix media illustration. First sketched in pencil, and colored in watercolors. On top of the watercolors, I added pastels to help create the ice bergs to stand out and to give texture to the seal's fur.

Gryffindor student
Painted digital in Corel Painter 11, in the Acrylic setting. After seeing the final Harry Potter movie, I felt happy that I saw a great movie and a great way to end the story. But I also felt a bit sad that there will be no more Harry Potter movies to go to. But I still felt the need to drawing something that relates to Harry Potter and I felt like trying a new style. In this Illustration I love Erte's illustrations and I wanted to give it a try. I played with the curves and lines in this character, trying to make her feel like she has movement, and using limited flat colors.
Woodkeeper
Painted in Acrylics. During this assignment, the task was to create a original character and have a story or description to go along with it. This creature is half tree and half man, he helps protect and serves Mother Earth like a knight. The bark on his hands and face are the armor and shield him. I have been told that this looks similar to the Lord of the Rings tree creatures, but believe it or not at the time given this assignment, I never seen any of the Lord of the Rings movie's. After watching the movie I do see why people see the resemblance, but I think my looks very different from the movies, at least my creatures story is my own.
Dread Pirate Lyss
This was painted in watercolors on watercolor paper. After watching the Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides, I got inspired to do some pirate illustrations. One of my friends help gave this girl a pirate name.
Wednesday Addams
This was done in Adobe Photoshop CS5. Lately I've been looking at the paper cut out design illustrations, and it always gets my attention. I like the way it pops out at you and you can do so much with the style. This was an experiment and my own project with illustrating with photoshop. I wanted to make this image look like a paper cut out style, and have the illustration be a simple design, something different from what I usually do.
Go With The Flow
This was painted digital in the Corel Painter 11, on the acrylic setting. This illustration has a story behind it. My friend and I love Tim Burton's movies and his characters, our favorite is Beetlejuice (then Jack Skeleton and Edward Sciccorhands). So as a surprise for my friend I went and drew ourselves in the cartoon version of the Beetlejuice animated series. To me this looks like it could be a cover to a comic. After this was done, my friend fell in love with the drawing, and as long as someone is happy when they look at my illustrations, then thats all I care about.
Bulbasaur (Pokemon)
This was done in Corel Painter 11 in the digital watercolor setting. In this little illustration I wanted to play around with drawing something that had simple design and that would be something I would see in a children's book. Just a fun little project I did during my summer break.

Virginia Tech Day to Remember
This illustration has a lot of meaning to me. By brother went to this college and he was their when the shooting at the school happened. Luckily he wasn't in one of those buildings, but he was close enough to know what was going on. When I was watching the live news of what was happening, I was so scared of what was happening. Thank God my brother wasn't hurt and no one that he knew was hurt. I wanted to draw something about that day. This is done with colored pencils.
What is shown in this illustration is the theme colors of the school and the Hokie bird, everything on one side is as it should be. But on the other side, you see some students in gray tones feeling sad for the lost of their friends and the college in the background.

BJ and Lydia Halloween
Done in pencil and copic markers.
This was an idea I came up with after seeing the movie Dark Knight. I thought it would be funny to have Lydia dress up as Harley Quinn and Beetlejuice as the Joker. But knowing his sense of humor from the animated TV series, it wouldn't surprise me if he turned into a Joker playing card. This is my first real fan art, and it is still the most popular on my other art website, Artlyss.deviantart.com.
Old Fashion Model
Painted in oils, the model brought some old fashion dresses. This dress was a cream color dress with some lace pattern.
Jack and Sally Dolls
Pencil drawing of the main characters of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. I got the idea of this being Sally's room and she was the one that made the dolls.
A Day in Sarasota
Painted with watercolors. This illustration is a story of what I did and saw one weekend. My day started out with going to Farmers Marker, everyone was buying flowers for Valentines Day. Then I went to the park and saw these small green parrots that were in a tree with no leaves. There were so many green parrots on the dead tree that it looked like they made up the leaves in the trees. At the park there were lots of people sailing their boats, it was a nice day and everyone was sailing on the ocean.
Beetlejuice and Lydia
Inspired by the illustration of Victoria Ying, I wanted to do a illustration that has a simple design and flat colors. Done in Adobe Photoshop CS5. Beetlejuice belongs to Tim Burton
Fairy Tale Icon
My own design of classic Fairy Tale stories. The first icon is for Snow White, the Witch holding the poison apple. The second icon is the Glass Slipper from Cinderella. The last Icon is the story of the Frog Prince. Done digital with Adobe Illustrator CS5.
